DAy 1 Begins

Yesterday we got the bikes ready with a trip tp the local bike shop where running repairs were done very quickly. Ollies bike finally turned up. In the afternoon we rode 40 km to Andechs which is a monastery outside of munich but noted for its dark beer. Michael was the official taste tester.

The bunch split for the return with Michale and Peter trying every trick to lose the pusuitants who rode back at 40 kph average!!!!!

Waether is good . not to hot and the very infrequent colign shower.

Munich is a nice city with a very strong bike culture withj bike paths on every street so it has been a very fitting place to begin the ride.

We hope to ride off at 9 am this morning, so next update from Garmisch Partenkirken

Amazing Race results

The winner of the Amazing Race was Michael as he claimed to arrive several hours before Adam and Peter (arr 1400 hrs 28 June after 36 hours travelling). Rod and Ferdi were next with the final Scott bro arriving late Sunday night less bike. Today at 9 Monday Martin arrived making up the seven man team. Adam and Peter went for a jet lag reducing ride this morning at 5 am!!! much to dismay of everyone else. Adam was first to puncture, closely followed by Peter who then made an early claim for crash king right in front of the hostel (no injuries to report though). Rod is holding back in opening the crash king count by not even riding yet.

Then Stefan turned up from Regensburg for the day and we caught the train to the BMW museum which was closed so we sat in new BMers and played with the simulators.
The tent arrived today and we now hope that Ollies bike is being delivered tonight.
We then had lunch in a beer garden (again), saugages and bagels were the order. Tonight we are carbo loading with traditional german sushi!

Hope to load some photos soon when we can.
